Periyar Medical Mission is a voluntary organisation funded by PSRPI. Mr.K.Veeramani M.A., B,L., is the patron. 50 doctors are the members of the mission. 60 paramedical staffs are also participated in the mission activities. The Principal of Periyar College of Pharmaceutical Sciences is also an active member of the mission.

Ten Executive Members are performing the regular functions. Mission runs 8 Hospitals through out Tamilnadu.

The Hospitals give service at a lowest cost and run by Medical Officers of Various Specialities.

Harshamithra Cancer Institute of Trichy is having collaboration with Periyar Medical Mission and running Cancer Detection Camps to detect Breast and Uterus Cancer. The Mission is having a 10 lakh worth of Cancer Detection Van, goes to small village helmets and screen the ladies freely with the help of the above hospital. Apart from the out-patient and in-patient work, periodical free health camps in small villages every month are conducted. The Medical Mission doctors are rendering free service to the needy neglected rural communities.

Periodical Blood Donation camps are conducted during Periyar, Maniammaiyar and Asiriyar K.Veeramani's birthdays. In urban centres, free camps are conducted during this birthdays. Approximately 80000 people are treated in the above hospitals. There is a smooth functioning of the hospitals have done because of the direction and guidance given by the patron.

The aim and goal of Periyar Medical Mission is to provide health care to the needy mofesul community. The Progress and achievements are improving process which helps to a section of a community. But our aim is to provide Medical help to the rural mass. During the flood time in Chennai and Cuddalore Districts, our medical mission team conducted health camps in unapproachable villages and Rs.5 Lakhs worth of drugs were distributed. Even though it is a small venture, we do a perfect helpful hand for the needy neglected people. Our aim is to expand the health care system still further. It is mainly due to Periyar's word "Forget God; Think of Human".

Chennai - Operation theatre, in-patient wards, full-fledged clinical laboratory, Physio theraphy centre, Dental Clinic. Soon we plan to start a dialysis unit for the poor class to provide dialysis facilities at a cheaper cost. We have a family welfare unit, doing all the Govt sponsered welfare schemes (Polio Drops, Issuing Contraceptives, Family welfare advice etc.,)

Trichy. Only outpatient department is running in Trichy. We are providing facilities to the student community in Periyar Centenary Educational Complex> We are giving training to 10 girls every year for nursing assistant course. A centralised examination is conducted every year for the girls. They are deputed to the nearest big hospitals to get maternity and operation theatre training.

Thiruverumbur: Only outpatient department is running in Thiruverumbur. We are providing facilities to the student community. We are giving training to 10 girls every year for nursing assistant course. A centralised examination is conducted every year for the girls. Thanjavur: is running maternity and surgical work. full-fledged and labour ward and operation theatre are available. It is situated in the Periyar Maniammai University campus, providing medical facilities to the student community. Sozhanganallur hospital situated in very remote rural area, where there is no medical facilities in the nearer place. The hospital server medical facilities to the poor rural population

Salem Hospital was donated by Dr.Maragatham Mariappan and Mr.Mariappan to the PSRPI. The hospital is equipped with an Operation Theatre and in-patient facilities. Eventhough it is situated in the urban centre, the rural mass from the neighbouring area are getting treatment at a cheaper cost.

Dharmapuri Hospital is a dispensary. It runs out-patient department to serve the needy Public.

Jayamkondam Hospital commisioned recently, running out-patient department. providing medical facilities to the student community of Periyar ....school, jayamkondam.

It also provides medical facilities to the public also.

Freaquent health camps are conducted in Chennai Hospital with various specialists.

93 PURA villages are being provided urban facilities to the rural communities by the PMU. Every month, one PURA village is getting health facilities with various specialists by Periyar Medical Mission.

The Dravidar Kazhagam people on their domestic functions request health camps, which is full-filled by Periyar Medical Mission.
